Cooler Master show off the Silencio 650 at CeBit 2012

Cooler Master’s Silencio 550 case that was released this year recieved great reception across the board and was generally a very successful case, combining a ‘silent’ design, with ample space and practicality. It would appear Cooler Master now has a successor to the Silencio 500 case ready in the form of the Silencio 650. Instead of the sound proof padding that Cooler Master went for on the previous Silencio case this time they have gone for a rather thick piece of aluminum on the front case door. As far as the front expansions go Cooler Master have been sensible going with just two 5.25″ drive bays, a hot-swap 3.5″ bay and 6 normal 3.5″ bays. There are also two 120mm dust filtered fans placed in front of where the 6 3.5″ bays are situated.

As you can see from the image of the built system, the person who built it clearly lacked any ability to tidy away cables and we can’t help but feel Cooler Master were trying to hide something when they decided to attach an AM3 backplate over the front of the bottom of the hard drive cage area. Inside the case Cooler Master have stuck with a standard rear 120mm exhaust, 7+1 PCI expansion bay design and a bottom mounted power supply. For the slider covered top panel there is a couple of USB 2.0, couple of USB 3.0, audio jacks, power/reset buttons, fan speed controller and hard drive boot order selector. Both side panels have noise insulating foam and the top panel has a vent this time (unlike on the previous Silencio) but Cooler Master have covered it with a sliding dust filtered door.

No pricing or availability information from Cooler Master, no words on whether this would even be the final design since it was just a prototype.
