Total build time on the Silencio 352 was around 30 minutes and while I could have done it in 20 minutes, the extra time was required to modify the chassis interior.
I have removed the HDD bays from the bottom of the chassis, removing my ability to install any 3.5″ HDD’s in the process. I then removed the 3.5″ bay from just below the 5.25″ bay, the 120mm front fan and this gave me room to install the Corsair H100i, which features pipes that are perfectly sized to reach our CPU block.
Sacrificing the HDD bays means I need to stick with 2.5″ drives, but since I can directly hang two 2.5″ drives on the back plate, that wasn’t an issue for me here.
The chassis is fairly compact but it will hold an SLI / Crossfire configuration. We’re using the Corsair H100i, but it is easy to see we have plenty of room here for a good size (air) CPU cooler.
The cable management holes looks insufficient at first, but that really wasn’t the case and the 352 is doing a great job of keeping our components looking neat and tidy, with just enough room behind the motherboard to keep everything out of the way, although with more drives installed instead of our CPU cooler, things could quickly become crowded here, especially if you do not have a modular PSU.
