Cooler Master TPC 800 Vapour Chamber CPU Cooler Review

For installation Cooler Master provides two sets of fan clips, thermal paste and the required mounting accessories for all supported sockets. We love the Cooler Master mounting mechanism because it allows you to secure the backplate into place before attaching the CPU cooler. With the backplate and screws installed you then use the supplied mounting “legs” to hold the heatsink down. Fans must be installed after the heatsink is secured because otherwise the fans will block the screws used on the mounting legs.
Because no fans are supplied with the Cooler Master TPC 800 we used a couple of Reeven ColdWing 120mm PWM (500-1500RPM) fans. These are the standard 25mm width fans and they block the first RAM slot when attached to the heat sink meaning no high profile RAM in DIMM slot #1. You could use slimmer fans but then you’d probably have to spend more or sacrifice some cooling performance.
As you can see the first RAM slot is totally obstructed, the 25mm fan also pushes onto our high profile RAM module in DIMM slot #2 – it is a tight squeeze but if like me you only normally use two high profile DIMMs on a LGA 1155 system then you should be fine.
The TPC 800 is a very compact heatsink by high end standards so you shouldn’t have VRM heatsink compatibility issues on any motherboards.
