The OEM for the Cooler Master V1200 Platinum as mentioned already is Seasonic. The V1200 uses Seasonic’s XP3 platform with a full bridge design and LLC converter. The secondary side deploys a synchronous design with DC to DC converts on the modular PCB to decrease power loss and help it achieve its 80 Plus Platinum efficiency.
Three parallel Hitachi hold-up capacitors are provided and all are rated for 105 degrees celsius operation at 420 volts. The combined uF rating is 1050 (330 + 330+ 390).
The large PCB at the side provides Over Current Protection for the 12 volt rail.
DC to DC converters combined with high quality Nippon Chemi-Con electrolytic capacitors ensure regulation and efficiency of the modular connections remain high.
Extensive AC line filtering takes place at the receptacle and on the main PCB. Impressive EMI filtering is also provided which is something that seems to be reserved for higher quality PSUs these days.
Protechnic make the included 135mm fan. It is rated for 0.38 amps at 12 volts which gives an indication that the fan speed probably tops out at about 2400 RPM. The fan’s model number is MGA13512XF-025.
