Cooler Master V6 GT CPU Cooler Review

A Closer Look

Upon removing the cooler from its packaging, the first thing that you will notice is the striking matte black plastic cover attached to the cooler. It is a very unique feature that is rarely seen outside of Cooler Master’s “V” series of coolers.

Looking at the cooler from a diagonal view shows that it isn’t the smallest of products and may cause interference issues.

A side view again shows that this is a very wide cooler mainly due to the use of 2 fans.

A very dense fin array as well as barely noticeable fin tilt are more easily spotted with the fans removed.

The unique “Double V” heatpipe arrangement is clearly visible by looking at the top of the cooler and exposed parts of the heatpipes.

The six 6mm heatpipes enter the fin array at different locations to form the “Double V” hetapipe arrangement.

An ultra shiny, large copper base is used on the V6GT.

Both 7 bladed fans are mainly black in appearance with translucent blades. Their “Cooler Master” stickers are located on different sides of the fan to make the logo clearly visible as both fans will be pointing in the same direction thanks to the push-pull configuration.

A 4-pin PWM connector is used on each fan’s black braided cable.

Cooler Master choose to use a stylish 4-pin PMW splitter allowing both fans to be connected to the same “CPU_Fan” header on the motherboard.

The top “Engine cover” styled accessory and plastic fan covers are removed fairly easily with the help of a small screwdriver.

  1. love that CPU cooler looks amazing, great review too, I would love to get one of these they certainly keep those high TDP CPU's cool enough to overclock them a lot

  2. I have one sitting on my desk. I am wondering how it compares to the Hydro H50 cooling since I went out and bought that for 40 bucks. The V6 just looks heavy as if it would break something.

  3. @ Ryan. Thanks mate :). Ye, it is a very good performing cooler! The ability to keep my hotter than normal 2600k under 70c with 1.288v running through it is nothing to be sniffed at.@ jtheater. Keep an eye out for a review in the near future that may be able to answer your question ;)! At 939g it is a very heavy cooler, but CM made a good job of making a sturdy and secure mounting system.

  4. great review, love the design, it seems some kind of mix between a supercar's engine and a motorbike petrol tank.
