A Closer Look

Out of the box, your initial impressions are certainly grabbed by the fact that with it’s bright white coloring, the Cooler Master V750 Gold V2 White Edition certainly looks impressive.

Cooler Master V750 Gold V2 White Edition

Starting with the main fan area, Cooler Master has applied a really nice aesthetic here by putting the air vent holes in a very distinctive pattern. With the logo to the centre as well, it adds a solid level of eye-candy while not detracting from the overall presentation.

The rear of the power supply finds a large quantity of vents that should, all going well, allow for a good level of air flow. While the panel is otherwise fairly standard, you do note the inclusion of a ‘hybrid’ function fan control button. We will, of course, look into this in more detail later in the review.

The power input bank is exceptionally good with each port being specifically itemized as well the spacing between them being more than enough to allow for easy insertion and removal.

In terms of branding, Cooler Master has made a very wise decision in keeping it as minimal as possible. Put simply, given the stark white design this PSU has, it would’ve spoiled it had they plastered it with logo’s and information on all sides.

Even on the panel that has the technical specifications, Cooler Master has still done this in neutral colors to maintain the white style. In terms of aesthetics, this gets two big thumbs up from us. Not only because it looks great, but because Cooler Master resisted the temptation to spoil it!

Cabling

The cabling for the Cooler Master V750 Gold V2 White Edition is fantastic and for a number of both visual and practical reasons. Starting with one of the most obvious, it is white. As such, it ties into the overall look of the power supply really well and would undoubtedly complement a system where the cables are exposed.

Best of all though, at least from my perspective, the cables are really generous in their length while still being more than sensible. As such, even if you have a notably large chassis or perhaps an unforgiving design, you shouldn’t have any problem weaving these where you need them to go while the strong plastic protective coating should keep them perfectly safe!

Internals – A Look Inside!

Upon opening up the Cooler Master V750 Gold V2 White Edition, the initial impressions are very good. Everything looks clean, tidy, well-spaced, and well organized.

A closer look at the fan reveals it to be an ‘Ong Hua’ design. While it is perhaps a little disappointing that Cooler Master did not utilize one of their own designs, we have seen this fan used in many power supply products in the past (not just from Cooler Master) and we’ve always found it to be a perfectly competent performer.

The PCB presents itself well with a distinct black coloring to main of the main components. Contrasting well against the white, it’s a small touch, but one that Cooler Master didn’t have to make, yet did. In addition, with the heatsinks and main capacitor located in a just off-centre location, these should get some nice cooling from the fan.

As Cooler Master makes quite a big deal about this power supply coming with 100% Japanese capacitors, it is, of course, important that we check this out. While we were not able to confirm this on the smaller designs (which, incidentally, is not uncommon) a look at the main capacitor confirms it to be manufactured by Toshin Kogyo. In case you didn’t know, this is indeed a Japanese manufacturer and while we haven’t encountered this specific capacitor used before in other power supplies, with it being rated to 105c, it certainly looks like a quality component.

Overall Thoughts!

Both inside and outside, it’s pretty clear that Cooler Master has put a lot of time and effort into creating the V750 Gold V2 White Edition. As we noted above, despite the many opportunities they had to spoil the sleek, bright, white design, they managed to resist the temptation and internally, everything looks perfect. Put simply, it looks fantastic and, as such, we’re more than confident that this will be reflected in some decent test results!
