Cooler Master V750 Gold V2 White Edition PSU Review

Fan Speed
Offering both a standard and hybrid function, Cooler Master has placed a definite emphasis on the V750 Gold V2 offering both excellent cooling performance while still being remarkably quiet. In regards to the standard function, we found that until around 50% load, the power supply did not deem it necessary for the fan to operate at all. Even when it did, however, running at an average of around 500-550 RPM, this is whisper quiet!
The hybrid function appears to be largely similar to the ‘standard’ except that the power output threshold has seemingly been increased to around 60% before it activated the fan. And, in addition, the fan seems to operate in more of a ‘curved’ profile to keep the general speeds lower.
Although the hybrid function certainly offers an improvement over the standard mode, in truth, it’s not a particularly necessary feature here. The ‘standard’ mode only operates the fan when it’s needed and, even then, it’s already pretty silent. All the hybrid mode seems to do is offer a few minor tweaks that, while undoubtedly improving things, don’t particularly add that much.
Put simply, hybrid mode on or off, it’s pretty great either way!
