Cooler Master V750 Gold V2 White Edition PSU Review

How Much Does it Cost?
Currently available to purchase for around £113.99, it’s certainly hard to argue with the price given the features on offer here. While this is, of course, a pretty standard price for most gold-efficiency rated power supplies at this wattage output, a factor that certainly tips the scales in favor of the Cooler Master V750 Gold V2 White Edition is that fact that this is provided with a colossally huge 10-year warranty.
With that kind of assurance, you can easily think of this PSU as an investment rather than a purchase!
Performance
Admittedly, there were not many aspects of the performance that stood out as particularly impressive. And, if we’re being honest, while there were no areas of concern, some results were a little higher (based on their test relevancy) than what we anticipated. On the whole, however, the Cooler Master V750 Gold V2 White Edition did its job perfectly fine and for any of the aberrations apparent in our testing, none of it was beyond a remit that caused us any concern. Maybe we set the bar and our expectations a bit too high based on its amazingly good aesthetics…
Admittedly, we expected this to do better as many aspects of this design suggest Cooler Master has pumped a lot more resources into this PSU than their other comparative models. Unfortunately though, whatever they have done here above and beyond that doesn’t seem to have offered anything overly (and comparatively) beneficial in its performance.
Ending with a positive though, it’s hard to deny that the efficiency and OPP testing results were, without a doubt, excellent. It’s just a moderate pity the other tests were not quite as fantastic as these!
Practicality & Functionality
Offering 750 watts of power output and a Gold efficiency rating, the Cooler Master V750 Gold V2 White Edition would be well suited to the vast majority of gaming PCs. It does, however, offer a few extra tricks that makes its practicality and functionality a lot better than many of its rivals.
For example, the easy to use power input bank and the very generous cable length definitely add to the overall practicality of this power supply. In addition, with it’s sleek white styling, even on an aesthetic level, this is definitely more than a little eye-catching compared to the often incredibly bland competition!
More so, if you value silent operation, that hybrid mode adds another aspect to a design which, as we have said many times prior, Cooler Master has clearly put a lot of thought and effort into.
Should I Buy One?
Power supplies are never the most ‘sexy’ aspect of a PC build and often it can be very tempting for ill-informed consumers to go ‘cheap’ on them. And often regret it later. While the Cooler Master V750 Gold V2 White Edition doesn’t offer much beyond expectations in terms of performance, there are definitely factors that warrant a lot of praise. Firstly, at 750 watts, this is a perfect power point for the vast majority of gaming systems. Secondly, with gold-rated efficiency, you know that whatever power gets drawn from the plug is being well-used throughout the individual components in your system. Thirdly, well, we think that white just looks cool!
Throw all those excellent features in with that colossally huge 10-year warranty and, put simply, the Cooler Master V750 Gold V2 White Edition is well worth your consideration as a solid, reliable, functional, practical, and certainly eye-catching power supply!
