Cooler Master V8 CPU Cooler Review

Installation
Installation all depends on the mechanism that particular cooler has as well as the socket you are hoping to install it to, as each socket from AMD and Intel are slightly different in their own unique kind of way. We are using a socket AM3 board for our tests and therefore had to follow the installation instructions for that particular platform.

It all starts with the cooler itself and your chosen socket for installation. As we are using AM3 we started to install the appropriate installation bracket, which feature pre-installed screws that are welded to the bracket. By installing the bracket into place, you can continue to position the rubber washes into place too.

Once this has been done, we found it best to line the CPU cooler up onto the processor with the screws poking through the socket holes.

We were then ready to install the backplate which involves lining it up and installing the locking nuts into place.

Once they are finger-tight, you can then proceed to tighten them using the including socket adapter which tightens using a normal screwdriver.

  1. Not a fan of these large coolers, much prefair the low profile coolers such as the Vortex Plus, I have a Scythe low cooler at the moment, pretty quite, so if I was changing it then the Vortex woud suit. And that is a good price from Scan.

  2. The v8 has always been considered overpriced lately, but price drops lately may actually make it decent value.

  3. Damn, that is one nice looking engine…I mean cooler. Nice pics. Like to list of Pros versus Cons.

  4. The V8 has been here for years… This review wants to tell everyone that it's still one of the greatest coolers out there.
