Cooler Master V8 CPU Cooler Review
Final Thoughts
Being honest, i had my reservations about this cooler when we first had it come through our doors. It had been given awards, but anyone can do that and even then, the awards it has were from 2009. It is also a lot cheaper than some of the big contenders on the market and gave the assumption is was a marketing based product with its V8 name, and wouldn’t deliver. Boy were we wrong.
The build quality is nothing short of what we expect from any Cooler Master product and the features that it includes are second to none with adjustable fan speeds and CPU socket support galore. It’s far from noisy on the lowest setting and will only cause concern if you have it ramped up to the full 1800RPM, but even then we’ve heard a lot worse.
It is said to deliver as a 180W cooling solution and we believe it too. We have to comment that it’s one of those products that you really have to see to believe, and we feel the results we obtained do that clearly and for a bang for buck price of £38, how can you really go wrong? The pricing on this unit is amazing and we don’t see how Cooler Master can produce a quality item like this for that low a price. We do feel that Cooler Master could charge just below £50 for this but we won’t tell them that, otherwise they may increase it and you’ll pay more and that’s the last thing we want for you.
In all honesty, if you are after a tried and tested CPU cooler that has already stood the test of time, produces great results and is affordable, look no further than the Cooler Master V8, as it will always come in at pole position.
Pros:
- Affordable
- Stylish
- Fantastic cooling
- Quiet
- Adjustable fan speed
- Easy to install
Cons:
- May be a bit high for some chassis
We would like to thank Cooler Master for supplying this sample

Not a fan of these large coolers, much prefair the low profile coolers such as the Vortex Plus, I have a Scythe low cooler at the moment, pretty quite, so if I was changing it then the Vortex woud suit. And that is a good price from Scan.
The v8 has always been considered overpriced lately, but price drops lately may actually make it decent value.
Damn, that is one nice looking engine…I mean cooler. Nice pics. Like to list of Pros versus Cons.
if u like the look of that, then u will love the look of this!coolermaster V6GT<img src="http://t1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcT4YCqjvwC4yxxTD6EWblVqfW5um5IGlWBpRdoR_jFUGI0pi7TM6w&t=1" alt="" />
It looks like a transformer in disguise. 🙂
The V8 has been here for years… This review wants to tell everyone that it's still one of the greatest coolers out there.
