Coolermaster Centurion 6 Chassis Review

Cooler Master have a really strong product with the Centurion 6, and I personally can’t wait to review the rest of the Centurion range that will be coming out this year, although I have seen most of them at CES I didn’t get chance to get fully hands on with them.

The Centurion 6 is somewhat understated with its simple black finish, mesh front and that cheeky touch of aluminium on the front panel. It’s a very straight forward design and personally I don’t think it’s for me or my system, but I understand there is a big market out there that is a little more sensible than I am, a market that doesn’t all want a chassis full of LEDs and braided cables, they want something bold, refined, clean and something that has a bit of aluminium on the front. Most importantly of course anyone who is building a new system wants a chassis that will provide a compatible, durable and practical solution for their components, something they can live with on a daily basis and will always do the job it’s meant to and it’s in this area that the Centurion 6 really delivers.

With support for long graphics cards, water cooling, extensive space for extra fans of various sizes, metal front panel mesh, USB 3.0, cable management and even an interior paint job the Centurion is a great value for money.

As I was saying before, the mid-range is easily the most popular price bracket for a computer component. You have your budget ranges which offer “something” for a little cash, you have your premium range that offers a bit more performance for a lot more cash and then you have the sweet spot in the middle that gives you most of the performance and features of the premium product ranges with close-to the price of the budget end. This is the sensible place to spend your money as you get the build quality, features and it’s generally the better investment for most consumers. The Centurion 6 may not be the cheapest Cooler Master chassis, it may not be the best either, but it does find that fine balance between the two that make this a rock solid all round performer.
