Cooler Master HAF XB Chassis Review

I really enjoyed working with the HAF XB, and I have no doubt that Cooler Master has got a really unique product here, of course you only have to take one look at it to realise that. There are many other test benches available on the market, yet I can’t say I’ve ever seen one like this as its more common place for a test bench to have no side panels and be more of an open box, much like the Cooler Master Lab Testbench.

The panels however, are very easy to remove and this can be operated as an open unit with ease, but having those extra panels brings some added benefits and if you have a need to move your test rig around a lot you’re really going to appreciate the durable build quality, bulky carry handles even more.

The design may be tailored towards being a test bench, but it still has all the major features and support capabilities of a regular chassis. It features 5.25″ drive bays, hot swap drives, plenty of room for both 2.5″ and 3.5″ drives, multiple graphics cards, large CPU coolers, large power supplies. It also features extensive fan mounting options although there are a few high quality fans included as standard and finally there is even some room for a little cable management.

Versatility is never a bad thing, and while many may just keep this chassis as standard, the ability to strip it down, customise sections, change component and put it all back together with ease is really going to prove popular with those who test a lot of components, love to do performance overclocking, or maybe those who just want a desktop chassis that stands out from the crowd.

With all the major features of the award-winning HAF XM crammed into the test bench format of the HAF XB, Cooler Master really have created something that is both highly practical and a lot of fun to use.
