CoolerMaster Hyper 212 Plus CPU Cooler Review

Results (Idle Temperature)

For idle temperature testing, we aim to give the fairest tests and that’s why we perform our benchmarks and tests under strict conditions including monitoring the ambient room temperature at a constant rate throughout the testing phase.

We use the same components through our tests, even down to using the same brand of thermal compound and a similar amount for each test too.

On the idle test, we let our system sit for 15 minutes with no extra applications open. The usual svchost.exe and other system applications are open as standard which lets the CPU percentage fluctuate between 0% and 2% or so. By leaving the system to sit for 15 minutes, it lets the processor reach a stable temperature for us to measure to give our idle temperature result.

As you can see from the results, there was quite a large difference between the Hyper 212 and some of the other model CPU coolers, which gave closer results at idle. We can assume that the Hyper 212 Plus has a certain edge over the competition, with its slightly bigger fan.
