Price
Grab your wallet, open it up, take our your card and put in an order, because the best feature of the MasterBox 5 is certainly appealing. Clocking in at just £59.99, this is one of the best value chassis on the market today. Sure, you can get cheaper chassis, but this level of quality and features at this price is simply hard to beat.
Overview
CoolerMaster has knocked it out of the park with this one, as the MasterBox 5 is one of my favorite chassis of the year so far. It has little about it that’s really innovative, or even particularly fresh in terms of design, but what it does have is well executed and is priced to put up a strong fight in a fairly busy section of the chassis market.
The design is nice and simple, a fairly box like design (although the name MasterBox” implies that), but little details such as the slightly angular front panel, and the mirror black front panel finish do a great job at bringing out some pleasing aesthetics that go well with the ultra-white finish, which gives off a lovely premium quality vibe. It may be as simple as a good paint job, but it looks and feels like a more expensive product, and that’s obviously a good thing.
The interior is well thought out, with a removable PSU shroud, hard drive bay, and 2.5″ bay, with the latter two also being movable within the chassis to best suit the requirements of your build. On top of all that, you’ve got support for a large radiator in the front, and a smaller one in the back, robust air cooling support with 2 x 120mm fans pre-installed, excellent cable routing, and well, that’s pretty much it. All the simple stuff is done, but for a mid-tower, you’re unlikely to need much else.
Pros
Cons
“If you’re looking for a versatile chassis for a quick and pain-free system build, as well as a great way to show off your new hardware, the MasterBox 5 is going to be hard to beat. One of the best mid-budget chassis on the market today.”
