As said before the drivers aren’t included with the version of the mouse we have, however they should be available with the retail product. Whichever the case is, the drivers are available on the CM Storm website and they are only a small download. Once installed, the drivers will load-up automatically.
The first screen shows a nice labelled diagram of the mouse showing you all the buttons available and gives you many options for each one. On the right hand side it allows you to change the basic Windows mouse settings, like the double click speed, the scroll speed, and the pointer acceleration. It also gives you a nice double-click test area to check the setting is what you want.
The second page is dedicated to setting-up macros. To add a macro you need to first press New Macro, then type in the name of the macro you want to store and then press Start record’ and it will record your next set of key presses/mouse clicks to that macro. You can then go back to the first page and set one of the buttons to operate this macro.
On the third page, Custom’ you can adjust the DPI Settings’ for the mouse, there are 3 DPI steps and 3 DPI settings to chose from, so this does seem a little pointless. There is also an option to change pointer speed (it goes up to 11- for some unknown reason) and the polling rate of the mouse. By default the polling rate is set to 500 Hz but this mouse can function at a quite high 1000Hz!
The final page gives you links for support and to update the drivers. As an extra point the program does have buttons at the bottom of all pages called Reset’, Ok’, Apply’ and Cancel’.
