We always, here at eTeknix try to thoroughly test every item. Mice are not an exception. However it is very hard to test a mouse as we can’t run any benchmarks or check its actual performance specifications. So, unfortunately it just comes down to my opinions and my experience with this mouse.
The mouse was tested in a variety of situations, in a general everday or office scenario using internet browsing with Google Chrome, Microsoft Word and Excel as well as quite a bit of Photoshop.
This mouse was all tested in various gaming scenarios including StarCraft II, F1 2010 and Call of Duty: Black Ops.
Comfort
It is a very grippy mouse which sticks to your hand nicely. You will also find it fits your hand size perfectly and will support your extra third and little finger nicely. The buttons are located in just the right place so you do not have to stretch or adjust your grip.
Features
Well this mouse certainly competes with the big guns of SteelSeries and Razer in this department. The mouse itself is pretty full of clever technologies and more importantly they work without having to set-up tonnes of pages of settings. However, the features of the software I feel are a bit limited compared to the SteelSeries driver pages.
Functionality
This mouse performed very well in the games. The 3500 DPI sensor is very good indeed, it gives a high maximum speed while remaining controlled. The grip and button locations make this mouse very quick in those gaming near-death’ situations. In fact, during F1 2010 the DPI switch buttons are perfect for manual gear shifting! The ability to add self-programmed macros is neat, although standard within gaming mouse. However, macros are set-up in a more simple and self-explanatory way.
Gaming
I’ve already touched on this but it performs amazingly. You have such control and precision on any surface. The mouse glides along and will not jolt or lag ever. This is one of the best mice I have used for gaming by far. For gaming, it would be quite nice if you could adjust the 3 DPI settings as sometimes I was looking for a setting in-between 1800 DPI and 3500 DPI, which is quite a large gap!
