Overview

Corsair has got more award-winning and market-leading products than I care to count. Sure, they’ve slipped a few times in the past, and not all of their products are always the best of the best, and lord knows the internet will never forget the Corsair gaming logo fiasco, but when they get things right, wow, do they kick some doors down. The new A115 isn’t just a great air cooler, it’s pretty much the new standard of excellence.

I’ve already been blown away by the Noctua U12A, it’s a stunning cooler. However, it was given some fierce competition this year by the Cooler Master MA824 Stealth and the fantastic DeepCool Assassin IV, but now Cooler Master has come along with an air cooler that runs significantly cooler and quieter than we expected, and it’s going to be a tough one to beat.

The build quality is excellent, and there’s an attention to detail that I’m sure their customers will appreciate, and that I think is also needed given how competitive the market has gotten. The premium fans they’ve used are not cheap, easily eating up half the retail cost of this cooler, but if you want great performance from your cooler, then quality fans are the right way to go. I would like to see Corsair do a reduced-cost version of the cooler that comes with just a single fan, I suspect there’s a market for that with lower TDP processors, but at the same time, I’m really impressed with the low acoustics when operating both fans.

Should I Buy One?

While those wanting to push the most extreme performance will still be looking to invest in liquid cooling of some form, the ease of installation, the compact size, the low noise, and the still rather fantastic cooling performance of the A115 are hard to ignore. It’s now my favourite air cooler! However, I’ve seen at least three new air coolers in the last year that have raised the bar… will there be another one coming soon? I can’t wait to find out!
