One thing is to create and demonstrate a lot of new memory kits, it is another to actually and finally bring them to the market. Corsair just announced the world’s first available 128GB DDR4 unbuffered memory kits, but that kind of memory will not come cheap.
The new kits are available in Corsair’s Vengeance LPX and Dominator Platinum series lines, giving content creators an unprecedented amount of high-speed DDR4 SDRAM for memory-hungry applications.
The 128GB total memory in the kits is composed of eight 16GB modules and designed for the latest X99 series Intel motherboards and come with XMP 2.0 support. Speed wise we stay in the lower end of the scale as the modules are available with 2400MHz and 2666MHz memory rates.
The Dominator Platinum Series 128GB DDR4 Memory kit features the user-swappable colored light pipes and is built with hand-screened ICs. The Vengeance LPX Series 128GB DDR4 Memory kit features an aluminum heat spreaders for faster heat dissipation and an eight-layer PCB for superior overclocking headroom.
Pricing and specifications depend on model and variant and can be seen below. All three kits come with Corsair’s Lifetime Warranty and all three kits will cost you quite a bit. Starting at $1755, these aren’t memory kits for everyone.
