Corsair Briefly Confirms the Upcoming Launch of its Super-Fast MP700 PCIe 5.0 SSD

With improvements to PCIe design and the recent introduction of Microsoft’s DirectStorage technology, it feels like we’re on the verge of some pretty huge things in terms of storage solutions, and more so, the speed at which data can be accessed and written on them. And speaking of storage, Corsair has undoubtedly represented one of the most reputable brands in this market.
While they do, undoubtedly, always like to keep us up to date with their upcoming releases, however, it seems that following a report via TechPowerUp, someone at Corsair HQ, or specifically whoever is in charge of their YouTube channel, made a slight faux pas as they, very briefly, confirmed the launch of their new and incredibly fast MP700 PCIe 5.0 SSD.
Corsair MP700 PCIe 5.0 SSD
The video confirming the upcoming MP700 PCIe 5.0 SSD was briefly posted to Corsair’s official YouTube channel but was sadly taken down again (rather promptly) before anyone could snag a copy of their own. – Based on the information provided within it, however, it seems pretty clear that the MP700 PCIe 5.0 isn’t just going to be a good SSD, it might just be (when it’s released) one of the fastest the consumer market has to offer!
Based on one of their marketing slides (which someone did snag before the video was taken down), Corsair has confirmed that the MP700 PCIe 5.0 SSD will be capable of write speeds of around 9Gbps, and better still, read speeds of up to 10Gbps. – Put simply, by the vast majority of today’s standards, these are incredibly high speeds.
And perhaps even more interestingly, while this is, of course, a PCIe Gen 5.0 product (which clearly offers pretty huge amounts of bandwidth) the slide doesn’t state, one way or the other, whether DirectStorage was involved here. Quite frankly though, we doubt it meaning that performance with compatible programs might offer even greater levels of speed. – Put simply, with this SSD, gaming load times might not, to the casual observer, even exist! It could potentially load data so quickly that, on the right system, you’ll barely notice it being loaded at all!
As for when Corsair will officially announce the MP700 though? Our best guess is probably some point during the Summer.
