Ubisoft is truly pushing the marketing out for Far Cry 5 and partnering up with as many companies as they can. They have teamed up with Amazon for a short film release related to the game. Now they have teamed up with Corsair to not only integrate the game with their products, but is offering the game for free as well from select bundles.
What does that mean exactly? Well, Corsair gaming products are known for their RGB LEDs. So the Far Cry 5 integration means that specific game events trigger the lighting pattern. Which in turn increases immersion. This partnership coincides with Corsair releasing a unified software utility to control all their peripherals. It will also come with support for game-specific profiles, the first of which is Far Cry 5.
The RGB LED integration has been something other peripheral manufacturers have done before in the past as well. SteelSeries for example has a long standing partnership with MSI integrating their products together. SteelSeries also has integration with other applications such as Discord to notify users of messages. This is eventually what Corsair aims to do with their RGB LED products. Corsair CEO Andy Paul even calls this latest move a “key milestone” for the company.
“We’re delighted to partner with Ubisoft to offer CORSAIR customers this new level of immersion, with one of the year’s most anticipated new games, Working with a AAA publisher such as Ubisoft is a key milestone for CORSAIR, as we work to offer more benefits for our dedicated customers.” Paul says.
To entice gamers, Corsair is also offering Far Cry 5 for free with purchase of select RGB products on their web store. The caveat is that they have to spend at least $150 to get the free game. Moreover, this offer is only available with purchases within the March 23rd through April 30th time frame.
Ubisoft’s Far Cry 5 itself is launching on March 27.
