In an announcement, Corsair revealed that it made a “multi-million dollar deal” to acquire a Scottish based networked audio device maker Simple Audio.
If you’ve never heard of the company, that’s because Simple Audio’s first device only called “Roomplayer” came out last year and it’s only available in the United Kingdom. Roomplayer lets you stream music from your system to you Home Theatre via WiFi, Ethernet or power-line networking.
However, Simple Audio will not be assimilated within Corsair’s existing audio product line, rather Corsair wants to ” further the brand’s reputation and music lovers around the world.”. Proper word would be “investing” rather than buying, but we’ll have to see what happens in the near future and see how this plays out. But as of now, Simple Audio’s founder and CEO Peter Murphy said that the company is making plans to bring their products to U.S. and Asia later this year.
