Price
The Gaming Scimitar RGB MOBA/MMO Gaming Mouse is packed full of features, so I was expecting a price tag that was closer to £100, but it is in fact only £69.95 from Overclockers UK. I’m not saying that’s particularly cheap, but it’s still excellent value for money for what you get.
Overview
Corsair has done it again! The new Corsair Gaming Void headsets are some of the best we’ve ever seen, their new Strafe keyboard is one of the best we’ve ever seen and now their new Scimitar gaming mouse is, you guessed it, one of the best we’ve ever seen! When it comes to gaming mice, innovations are few and far between, but the Scimitar manages to pack in every feature you could possibly ask for and more, as well as a few new additions we’ve never seen before.
The 12 mechanical buttons on the side of the mouse are fantastic to use. They look a little small, but each button is well defined and easy to use. Sure, it will take some getting used to compared to most mice, but the payoff for MOBA and MMO gaming is huge. The Key Slide feature puts the Scimitar above the offerings of the competition too, as it allows you to sculpt the ergonomics to best suit your needs and play style.
The software is comprehensive, allowing extensive customisation of every single buttons configuration, with timers, macros, profiles, lighting, multimedia and so much more at your fingertips. It’s also easy to use if you want it to be, and as endlessly advanced as you may need if you like to dig deeper into the settings. The RGB lighting is easily tuned too, even allowing you to synchronise other Corsair peripherals lighting along with it from a single piece of software.
The sensor is amazing, and a clear example of why Optical is king when it comes to gaming. It tracks beautifully and with a range of 100 to 12000 DPI, you’ll have no issue with finding the settings that best suit your needs. Combine this with the lightweight and easy glide design, superb ergonomics and responsive switches, and you’re well on your way to gaming at your absolute best.
