Price
The Corsair Glaive RGB Gaming Mouse launched with an MSRP of £76.99 but is already available directly from the Corsair Store on Amazon for just £69.95. That’s a pretty competitive price for a high-performance gaming mouse. It’s not a bargain, but as I said, it’s competitive. It’s around the same price as the ASUS ROG Gladius II, Logitech G502, and a few from Razer, all of which offer similar performance, although they lack the modular side panels.
Corsair continues to deliver award-winning gaming mice. The Glaive isn’t the typical style of a mouse I would go for, as I do prefer something with a few extra buttons for macros, but again, that’s a very subjective quality. When it comes to FPS gaming on this mouse, there’s nothing I can fault about it. I do play a lot of MMORPG games, but I can hardly knock the Glaive down for this, given that it’s marketed as an FPS mouse.
The lightweight switches in the LMB and RMB are super responsive. This snappy response is perfect for lightning fast reaction times and rapid triggering. However, my heavy middle finger does tend to trigger the RMB quite a lot accidentally. Although, that’s more my palm rest lazy play style that’s to blame for this. You do get used to the sensitivity with a bit of practice.
I’m sure many of you have a lovely gaming surface, be that thick cloth or soft mat. You’ll be happy to hear that the Glaive works very well on both, and it glides better than any mouse I’ve ever tested. That’s not hyperbole either, literally better than any other mouse regarding glide.
The build quality is very nice on this mouse. The mixture of the hard-wearing rubber grip and heavy duty plastics means it’ll withstand more than a few hard knocks and bumps. However, it’s the modular side panel design that I love the most. Being able to pull off the panel and clip another in place simply means you can get the perfect grip to suit your playstyle and hand size. This modular feature alone gives the Glaive broad appeal to many different types of gamers.
Of course, there are a few other welcome features to this mouse. The 16000 DPI sensor is flawless, and from work to gaming, it’ll never miss a beat pixel. You can tune it from 100 to 16000 DPI, and set it up over five settings, with a sixth to the Sniper Mode. Although you need to customise the button layout for a Sniper Button. The RGB lighting is best in class too. Corsair’s light engine is unmatched concerning features, and you can sync it with other Corsair devices for all your rainbow-tinted thrills.
