Corsair H100i Liquid CPU Cooler Review

Corsair make installation relatively simple. For Intel systems (the system we used) there is a universal backplate which you install. It has cut outs to account for the LGA socket screws under the motherboard so make sure you get it the right way around (the backplate only fits properly one way). You then fix the backplate in place using the correct bolts for your socket, these can be screwed in by hand. You then need to apply a bracket to the pump, the Intel pump bracket is located on the far right, this is secured using locking screws provided in the bag of parts.

From my experience of the installation it is a very simple process but I caution all users to ensure that they do not over tighten the locking screws that secures the H100i pump in place. This is because the locking screws have longer threads than they need and over tightening can cause the locking screws to break the socket bolt screws – so be careful not to over tighten anything in the installation especially so if you are using a screwdriver (as this makes it easier to do so). The manual does not point this out and I think it is strange why Corsair have used mounting screws with such long threads when it is not needed, I only hope they update the screws or change the manual in future. Apart from that the manual is quite concise and explanatory on all other things.

You can fit the H100i pump in any way you want, the tubing doesn’t protrude out enough to block or hit anything.

RAM compatibility is 100% as you would expect from an All-In-One liquid cooling solution.
