Corsair H115i RGB Platinum CPU Cooler Review

Performance
In our past experience of cooler reviews (which is quite substantial) we have always found Corsair AIO coolers to always provide really impressive test results. In this case, the H115i RGB Platinum is no exception. Across all of our testing, this cooler consistently finds itself towards the top end of the charts. As we said though, as good as this is, we’d be lying if we said we’d expected anything different!
Stock Temperatures
At stock levels, the Corsair H115i Platinum provides some very impressive results. A particular highlight is it’s truly excellent idle and gaming temperature performance. Even when pushed hard, you feel that this cooler barely breaks a sweat at this level.
Overclocked Temperatures
Given that this cooler has a slightly larger than usual profile, it’s not surprising to see that when it’s tested in our overclocked mode, it easily meets the challenge. With, again, excellent idle and gaming load temperatures the Corsair H115i proves that it is an exceptionally capable overclocking cooler. Even under maximum load, this provided a more than comfortable temperature margin. 62C is very impressive for the strength of overclock we apply.
Stock Acoustics
If you were impressed with the temperatures, then the acoustics really set this cooler apart. The noise levels under standard operation are near-silent.
Overclocked Acoustics
When overclocked, it seems that the slightly larger H115i has a bit more noise ‘wiggle room’ over its H100i RGB Platinum sister-product. This would indicate that the H115i has a lot more movement to manoeuvre in terms of pushing overclocks even further. While the noise levels did increase slightly, the increase was minimal.
