Corsair H80i v2 120mm AIO CPU Cooler Review

Final Thoughts

Price

The Corsair H80i v2 is an attractive cooler in terms of performance and design, and can be found at almost any major retailer out there. We found it at Scan.co.uk for £89.99, but we have seen it go as low at £75 around the web in recent sales, so it’s worth shopping around.

Overview

The Corsair H80i v2 is a welcome addition to the cooling market and shows just how well the Corsair range of AIO products have progressed over the years. In terms of performance, Corsair coolers have always performed well and been one of the, if not the, most popular choice for system builders around the world. The latest incarnation certainly delivers the high-end cooling thrills that system builders desire, making them a prime option for an overclocked workstation or gaming system.

The design has developed over the years too and the H80i v2 is the best looking Corsair cooler yet. The side of the radiator has been redesigned and the little bit of branding there certainly helps complete the design. The radiator design also matches the new pump, with matching Corsair logos on each and the LED lighting on the pump adds a nice aesthetic touch, especially if you have a side panel window on your system. Moving the pipes from the side of the block and having them pass through the top of the pump is a nice touch too, can’t say it changes the performance, but it does look pretty cool. The thick braiding on the pipes is nice too and will help further enhance the visuals of your build and offer you improved durability overall.

The price isn’t especially cheap, but it’s certainly competitive in this market for the performance on offer. Sure, they also make a 240mm version, but I wonder if the performance will be that much better than what we’ve seen today, as the H80i is already cooling very well. We’ll be testing the other model shortly though, so I’m eager to see how the two compare.

Pros

  • Extremely durable build quality
  • Competitive price for performance level
  • Braiding on hose
  • Corsair link
  • Quiet performance, even when overclocked
  • Excellent cooling performance when overclocked

Cons

  • None

“The Corsair H80i v2 shows just how great water cooling can be for your systems performance, allowing high-end overclocks and low temperatures, while still only requiring a 120mm mount. An essential addition to any gaming PC!
