Corsair hits the market with 8GB Vengeance Modules

Some of you may have seen both Patriot and Samsung 8GB modules hit the market in North America and Asia respectively but now is the turn of Corsair. It has developed 8GB modules of its Vengeance line of RAM products.  The modules do not break any boundaries in terms of speed, in fact if anything they take a slight step backwards as timings and frequencies have to be loosened slightly to allow for the higher memory density. It will operate at 1600MHz on 1.5v but you will get latency timings of CAS 10 not CAS 9 meaning 10-10-10-27 as opposed to 9-9-9-24 . But what these modules do provide is the ability to max out memory requirements in your motherboard so for 6 DIMM boards that support 48GB you can now achieve this or for 4DIMM boards you can now get 32GB of RAM.

However, if you were looking to pick yourself a set of four 8GB Vengeance DIMMs anytime soon you may want to hang around for a while since current pricing stands at $269.99 a piece. Corsair stresses compatibility with the current 2nd Generation Intel processors as well as XMP profiling and support for dual and triple channel memory lanes when using multiple modules.

“Vengeance DDR3 memory is the premier choice for reliable, overclockable DRAM for system builders on a budget,” said Giovanni Sena, Director of Memory Products at Corsair. “Our kits based on 8GB modules give builders, system integrators, and gaming enthusiasts the power to break the 16GB barrier.”
