Corsair HS50 Gaming Headset Review

Final Thoughts
Price
The Corsair HS50 Stereo Gaming Headset is priced at just £54.99, and in my opinion, that’s a freaking bargain. The headset punches well above its weight in terms of build quality and performance, and with multi-format support, it’s a great all-in-one solution too.
Overview
Over the last year or so, I’ve personally ranked the latest Corsair Void headsets as some of the absolute best looking, fitting, and performing headsets on the market. However, at around £100 for the top end models, it’s not expensive, but not within everyone’s budget. You can get their USB model for between £65-80, but again, that’s more money than the HS50, and it’s not multi-format either. At just over £50, the HS50 is properly affordable to many more people and delivers performance that you’re not going to beat until you’re spending closer to £90.
Design
It’s beautifully understated and stylish, and that’s very important here. It doesn’t look like a gaming headset, at least not immediately. This makes it perfectly viable to walk around with on your head and use them as headphones. You could comfortably wear them on your daily commute, while out walking, on a long-haul flight, with no issues.
The build quality is superb, with a metal headband, and durable driver mounts. The fake leather material and soft padding, combined with the lavish stitching on the headband give it the premium quality vibe you would expect from a headset that cost twice as music.
Powerful Sound
Are these audiophile grade accurate drivers? Nah, not really. The bass is a little boosted, the mid is a little cut, and the treble is a little boosted. However, it still comes out crystal clear, dynamic and it just sounds “right”. Give me an EQ of my own, and I’d likely set it up the same myself. Movies, music, games, team chat, it all rings through the mix bright and clear and I could ask for more from the HS50.
