Corsair HS50 Stereo Gaming Headset Introduced

Aside from launching the new ML Pro RGB LED fans, Corsair also has been working on non-RGB related efforts in the form of the new HS50 headset. No it does not have RGB LED lighting, but it is available in three different accent colors: green, blue, and carbon. Unlike other gaming headsets in the market, the Corsair HS50 is meant to provide affordability and performance.

Corsair HS50 Headset Features

It is not an open back headset despite the mesh on the side. That appears to be purely a cosmetic choice. Otherwise, you get 50mm neodymium drivers with a 20Hz – 20 kHz frequency response range. The leatherette ear cups are large to fit comfortably, and swivel as well for proper fitting. Additional padding on the headband is available, so that it is comfortable for long period wear.

The noice cancelling microphone is unidirectional with a 100Hz to 10kHz frequency response range and -40dB (+/-3dB) sensitivity. It also detaches for easier transport or if users simply want to use it like a normal headphone. There is a built-in mute and analog volume wheel control behind the left ear cup as well.

The connector itself is a standard 3.5mm with a Y-adapter included, despite the fact that the product page currently says that it is USB at the time of this writing.

Pricing and Availability

Available in three colors, the Corsair HS50 starts at €59.99 for the Carbon model. Which is essentially the gray/black version. If you prefer a blue accent color to match your PlayStation 4, then it costs €64.99. The green accent color which matches the Xbox color costs €64.99 as well. So far, only the carbon version is available from the Corsair online store.
