Final Thoughts

How Much Does it Cost?

The Corsair HS60 Surround Gaming Headset is available now for just £69.99. That’s pretty cheap for the quality and performance offered here. Of course, with it being multi-format, it’s a headset you can travel with for music on the go, take into the office, plug into your consoles, hook up to your PC. Why buy half a dozen headsets, when you can do it all in one and save a fortune!

Overview

There are two very major selling points on this headset that make it a winner. It’s a welcome upgrade to the HS50, albeit not a huge one. By adding the 7.1 surround mode and the USB dongle, I think it’s worth the extra £15 premium over the old model all day long. The next big win is something that we also had on the HS50, and that’s some of the best build quality you’ll find for under £100. If anything, it reminds me of the HyperX Cloud headset for build quality, and that’s high praise.

Sound Quality

The sound quality of this headset is flawless. The sound is completely distortion free, and that’s impressive at max volume because these drives are freaking powerful. You throw on some heavy metal and crank this headset; your ears will be ringing in no time. Of course, that’s a dumb thing to do, but if you’re dealing with a quiet audio source, that extra power will come in handy.

EQ

The sound is tweaked here. Although while there’s nothing wrong with it as such, audio purists will either want to tinker with their audio hardware EQ. Push that mid-range back up or try something like the Corsair VOID which has a more balanced sound. The big bass and clear treble do sound great though. Overall, it’s ideal for movies and gaming, it gives it that wow factor that draws you into the environment.

Should I Buy One

I honestly think Corsair is onto a winner here. A powerful, well made, and practical multi-format headset with a few bells and whistles. You’ll be hard pushed to beat this price. Yes, you’ll find cheaper ones that sound as good. However, good luck finding anything this well made for less.
