Corsair HS70 Wireless PC Gaming Headset Review

Final Thoughts
How Much Does it Cost?
High-end performance, wireless technology, premium build quality, all usually mean a high price tag. However, with an MSRP of just $89.99, the HS70 couldn’t be more affordable. Atleast not without some significant sacrifices to what’s on offer. It’s one of the best-priced headsets for this level of features. It’s certainly going to be a big hit with gamers at this price range.
Overview
As I said earlier, I loved the Corsair HS50. It’s a stylish, well made, and very well priced Stereo headset. The wired and surround capable HS60 was even better, and a welcome upgrade for a little more money. However, the new flagship HS70 takes things to new levels. At its core, it performs just as well as the HS60 did. Delivering a powerful and rich sound, as well as loads of features to tinker with the game and chat audio. Of course, going wireless is what sets it apart. Now I can go lay down on the comfortable couch while gaming and not trip over the USB cable again.
Build Quality
Build quality is where the HS70 shines, as did the HS60. The metal interior on the headband is durable, and blends into the aluminium choke for the ear cups, giving it added strength and style, without adding too much weight. The leather materials and their stitching look and feel far better than a bit of foam or PVC covering we often see in this price range too. Everything feels lightweight, yet impressively robust.
Sound Quality
The 50mm drivers have been tuned to impress, delivering audio that puts a smile on your face regardless of what you’re listening to. If you like to blast out your music on your headset while playing Battlefield and shouting at your mates on Discord, you’ll be able to do so with zero issues. The default performance is fantastic, but if you want to tweak it, the CUE software has everything you need to boost the EQ range, tinker with the side-tone, and more. The only thing this lacks is RGB, but I’m sure that pleases as many as it upsets.
Should I Buy One?
Again, Corsair has knocked it out of the park. If you want to save a little cash and still get excellent performance, I think the HS60 is the way to go. Do you want something just a little more premium and to cut those cables? The flawless wireless performance and impressive battery life of the HS70 is going to pay for its self in the long run.
