Corsair HS75 XB Wireless Headset Review

How Much Does it Cost?

While the headset isn’t cheap, it is designed to be a premium product and the price does reflect that. The headset is available today from all the usual retailers and an MSRP of £169.99 in the UK, and you can find on Amazon here.

While that isn’t cheap, it’s certainly good value for money when you reflect on the performance, huge battery life, USB-C, wireless technology, and the overall fit and finish of the headset. It’s a similar price to what SteelSeries, Razer, Turtle Beach and a few others offer for similar features, and Corsair can certainly compete with any of them all day long.

Overview

The latest headset from Corsair doesn’t feel particularly new to me. That’s not a bad thing though, they’ve stuck with a design that’s worked well from them on a few previous models and I’m always happy to see it back. It’s exceptionally well made, and I think that shows just by looking at it. It looks well made, but it also feels it. Despite being a bit rigid and having less ergonoic adjustments than most, it’s unbeleivably comfortable too. It’s built for a brutally long work day and brutally lazy game night… and it’ll do it on one charge, which is epic.

Wireless

There’s no compromise here, and the performance was absolutely faultless. Albeit, that’s true of most wireless headsets these days. I like being able to pair up with my Xbox One, and very soon my Xbox Series X (yup, got a pre-order!), and if I’m honest, 95% it’ll be on my PC via the USB dongle.

Dolby Atmos

Surround processing has come on a long way in recent years. DTS:X, Creative SXFI, Atmos and more. Even Windows Sonic to a lesser degree. I’ve used it for a long time now, all of them, and it’s a good fit for this headset. For movies and gaming, the surround effect is tremendous and those powerful drivers and their accuracy really put a big grin on your face.

What I do love is that with this headset, you simply download the Dolby Atmos app on Xbox, and it’ll auto authenticate that app, that’s really cool and saves you mucking about putting in a purchase code. With Atmos you can configure and EQ to suit your needs too.

Should I Buy One?

Yes, would be the long and the short of it. Corsair continues to dominate the gaming world and they’ve taken an already class-leading headset, made it look sexier than ever, thrown in Dolby Atmos, and kicked it back out to market. It’s one of the best headsets out there today, and it’s as simple as that.

As a child still in my 30's (but not for long), I spend my day combining my love of music and movies with a life-long passion for gaming, from arcade classics and retro consoles to the latest high-end PC and console games. So it's no wonder I write about tech and test the latest hardware while I enjoy my hobbies!
