A Closer Look – Interior
Corsair’s OEM for the HX1000i is CWT who Corsair have favoured a lot over the years to build most of their platforms from the affordable CX series to this high-end HX series. Corsair have deployed other OEMs in the past such as Flextronics on their AXi series and Great Wall on their CS series.
The HX1000i is similar to the RM series with its LLC resonant converter and half-bridge topology for the primary side, a sychronous design is deployed on the secondary side.
The two primary hold-up capacitors are produced by Rubycon and are rated for 400v, 470uF and 105 degrees celsius operation each.
Secondary side electrolytic capacitors are provided by Chemic-Con.
A total of 6 Y caps, two X caps, two CM chokes and an MOV deal with AC line filtering. These components are spread out between the AC receptacle and the main PCB.
Corsair deploy a 135mm Fluid Dynamic Bearing fan which uses just 0.22 amps at 12 volt meaning that it’s rated RPM is probably 1500RPM or less but Corsair does not specify.
