Corsair HX1500i Platinum Power Supply Review

Packaging
The packaging style Corsair has chosen with the HX1500i is amazingly eye-catching with the primary bright yellow contracting excellently against the black power supply images. The front of the box certainly emphasises this well with a nice big bold image of the PSU front and centre.
Unfortunately, for as solid as the front is, Corsair painfully fumbles the ball on the back. Despite having plenty of space at their disposal, the text is small. Painfully small. And small black on bright yellow is not very easy on the eye at all! – The performance charts are small, the specifications are small, the dimensions are small, the images are small. Everything is small! Oh sure, all the information you need is there, but just in case I hadn’t got the point across yet, it’s all so, so, small!
As you can see yourself though, Corsair has so much space at their disposal to make this not just slicker in terms of presentation, but infinitely more pleasurable to the perusing eye.
In terms of presentation, the front is fantastic. It’s just disappointing to see how poorly they handled the back!
Accessories
Given that this is a power supply, you clearly don’t expect much in the way of accessories. And in this regard, you’d be right to do so. – You get the somewhat mandatory safety information booklet and a handful of zip ties for cable management. Alas, no canvas bag to keep your spare cables in. The box interior, however, has a pretty nice section for this though so I’ll give them a pass on this one.
In regards to this latter point, it’s a bit disappointing that Corsair hasn’t provided you with something a little fancier given that this is clearly quite a premium product. Still, better to have some basic ones than none at all I guess!
