Coming with such high specifications, I think you all probably suspected even before we got to this point that the Corsair HX1500i wasn’t going to be cheap. – Alas, high-quality power supplies do tend to come with a price tag to match. In many regards though, the Corsair HX1500i (and its 1000W counterpart) did still manage to surprise me by being less expensive than I had anticipated. – Yes, it’s still a fair chunk of change. For the performance and high levels of future-proofing offered though, I would consider this more of a long-term investment in a PSU that could easily last several builds!

The performance of the Corsair HX1500i is unquestionably fantastic. In terms of efficiency, it easily meets its 80-Plus Platinum remit and surpasses it by a pretty comfortable margin too. The PFC and ripple scores are among some of the best results we’ve ever seen. – Throw that in with 1500 watts of power output and you clearly have a PSU here that can not only handle some pretty monumental workloads but one that can also do so without breaking a sweat while barely making any noise at all.
In terms of high-end performance power supplies, the Corsair HX1500i ticks all of the right boxes!
Offering a fully modular design, with absolute masses of cables that should easily be able to hook up even the most elaborate of gaming or enthusiast PC systems, the Corsair HX1500i offers plenty of practicality and functionality for users. – It’s high-levels of efficiency ensure that minimal amounts of power are wasted while the fan, coming preset on a very acoustic-minded curve, only makes a noise when it has to. And even when it does, it’s barely audible. – For those of you wanting to change the fan settings though, this can easily be done through Corsair’s i-Cue software.
Throw that in with support for the 12-pin PCIe 5 power standard and, all in all, there’s very little this PSU can’t do!
The Corsair HX1500i has not been designed for the average user. – Oh sure, there’s nothing ruling those people out necessarily, but I think it would be fair to say that this particular model has undoubtedly been targeted towards extreme gaming PC systems and/or high-end enthusiasts. The Corsair HX1500i goes above and beyond most people’s usual expectations or requirements when it comes to PSUs and not just in terms of its performance, but also in regard to the features it provides.
Cheap this is not, but then again, when compared to what other high-end models can cost (while generally offering weaker performance), this is actually incredibly competitive. Based on what it can offer you, this is, without a doubt, one of the best high-end PSUs currently available on the market. And for those who need or want this kind of extreme performance from their PSU, then the Corsair HX1500i would represent a fantastic choice!
