Corsair iCUE 5000T RGB Mid-Tower Case Review

A Closer Look – Interior

This is a pretty big case, so it’s hardly surprising that there’s a huge amount of space on the interior. It’ll support (up to) an E-ATX motherboard measuring 305 x 277mm. However, even then, there will still be plenty of clearance on all sides of the motherboard to deal with larger add-on devices and cooling hardware.

Cable routing isn’t lacking, that’s for sure, with plenty of cut-outs and grommets dotted around all sides of the motherboard.

Getting all your cables where they need to be with the shortest possible runs should be a breeze.

There are three gorgeous 120mm fans pre-installed in the front. However, there are mounts for 2 x 140mm fans instead if you ever felt the need to swap them out.

Personally, I can’t imagine why you would buy this case and not use these fans. They’re all pre-wired into the Commander Core XT hub, so the setup and configuration of the RGB should be pretty easy.

To the right of the motherboard tray, there are another 3 x 120mm fan mounts, and you can get up to a 360mm radiator here too. It has a shroud over it by default though, so if you don’t use it, it doesn’t look like wasted space.

In the top, there’s yet another 360mm/280mm mount.

And finally, a 120mm mount in the rear. Overall, the case will handle up to ten 120mm or four 140mm fans, so airflow certainly won’t be an issue. Plus with dust filters on all intakes, your system should stay nice and clean too.

There’s a full-length PSU shroud built-in, which will hide a lot of cables to further tidy up your build.

However, there’s a small viewing cut-out, so you can still see the PSU design.

And a further cut-out at the front so that it doesn’t restrict front panel cooling support.

Behind the motherboard, there’s a fantastic amount of space for cable management. Of course, with the PSU shroud too, you’re not going to need a lot of excess cables back here anyway.

There is a deeper recess next to the larger grommets, as well as some durable Velcro straps, so dealing with thicker cables here should be a breeze.

There are some custom cable routing channels behind the motherboard too, which just gives everything a very nice layout. Sure, you won’t even see this part of the build with the side panel on, but it’s still nice to keep things looking smart. The Commander hub is pre-installed here too, and all the pre-installed fans and lighting strips are pre-wired too. It’s quite a complex setup, so I’m glad to see Corsair has done the work here and it’s basically just plug and play.

There are three dedicated SSD mounts, each with a removable metal bracket for quick and easy installation.

Plus, there’s room for a pair of 3.5″ drives in the lower section, or you can remove that bracket entirely for additional PSU/cable space should you need it.
