Corsair iCUE 5000T RGB Mid-Tower Case Review

Complete System

Building a system inside the Corsair 5000T is a pretty straightforward task. Sure, it’s a super expensive case designed for the enthusiast market. However, it’s really just a well-designed mid-tower with lots of extra space. Most of the hard work is taken care of. Pre-installed fans, pre-installed RGB lighting strips, a pre-installed controller hub and all the required cables are neatly routed and never got in my way.

The fatter design means that larger motherboards, long graphics cards, big coolers, and any else all have plenty of wiggle room when you’re installing them. Nothing felt restricted, nothing got in the way, and it just make the whole build process very smooth.

Plus, having removable side panels, and larger cable grommets everywhere you could need them means getting a clean looking build is relatively easy. You don’t have to be some slick modder to get good results here, although I’m sure some talented folk out there will have fun with this case too.

CPU cooler clearance just isn’t an issue. I’m using the U12S for this build, which looks great, but even the larger D15S from Noctua would have had plenty of room to space.

If you’re air cooling your PC, that triple stack of 120mm fans in the front bring in vast amounts of air. The case is well ventilated and filtered, and the Commander gives you desktop control of fan profiles, so you can get the airflow and acoustic levels that suit your needs when you need them.

Of course, with all those additional fan mounts and radiator support, you can scale your cooling capacity with the requirements of your build. I personally prefer an air-cooled build, but there’s no doubting the liquid cooling potential of the 5000D.

Got a massive graphics card? Not a problem, there’s enough length here for the largest cards on the market, and you’ll still have room to space for thicker radiators in the front of the case. Not that this is where most people keep their controller, but could I hell find a tape measure, and we have no bananas for scale.

Width isn’t an issue either, so wider cards such as the STRIX series, plus any liquid cooling hardware coming off the side of a graphics card, really won’t be an issue here.

Obviously, there’s a vertical mount too, but you’ll need to provide your own riser cable for that; they’re not overly expensive these days though.

There’s obviously one thing you can see throughout these pictures that I haven’t mentioned. RGB. It’s bloody everywhere. You get a fantastic RGB show from literally every angle. Of course, the interior lighting is mostly coming from the fans in the front.

They do look pretty though!

However, from the front of the case, they’re quite nicely recessed, so add more of an accent light to the case front rather than radiate too much light out into your room.

Of course, the sidelights add a lot more colour to the mix. With three recesses at the top all lit up.

Three more at the bottom. And then the same again on the other side!

Fast and the Furious cars are less tricked out in lights than this carnival of a case. Sure, it’s not for everyone, but if you love RGB, this is bringing its A-game.
