Corsair is one of the biggest and most respected case makers in the world. Actually, they’re one of the most beloved PC gaming brands to have ever existed, and for damn good reason. Many of their keyboards, mice, headsets, SSDs, memory kits and RGB technology have won countless awards for being many of the best in their respective categories, and there are plenty more products beyond all that. So when I heard that they have a new flagship case hitting the market, I was certainly eager to check it out. Now, with all this “best” and “premium” banter of mine, I am trying to make a point. The new Corsair case is expensive, very expensive, and well… I’m hoping that’s because it’s basically the best damn case I’ve ever seen in my life. I suspect it might be though, it has a lot of features, but can we justify the wallet-busting £349.99/$399.99 price tag? Well, let’s find out.
A few years ago, the thought of spending this amount of a mid-tower would require a fairly severe concussion. However, the enthusiast market has been pushing to the extremes year after year, and it’s not like more affordable cases aren’t available. The 5000T is likely to be the object of desire for Scrooge McDuck, but if you can afford it, take a look at what your investment gets you. 208 individually addressable RGB LEDs, with RGB fans accounting for 48 of them and the rest integrated into the front, roof, and floor panels with lighting strips. That’s all hooked up to their iCUE Commander Core XT hub, which supports up to six PWM fans, and multiple lighting configurations. The fans are the latest Corsair LL120 RGB models, and there are three pre-installed. There’s a high-airflow and dust filtered design, tempered glass windows, a PSU shroud, RapidRoute Cable Management, modular storage, tool-free panels, and plenty more beyond… yikes!
Long story short though, if RGB ain’t your bag baby, this ain’t the case for you.
“The CORSAIR iCUE 5000T RGB’s contoured curves and 208 individually addressable RGB LEDs make your system unmistakable, while removable airflow front and roof panels, CORSAIR RapidRoute cable management, and a spacious interior make it easy to build. Three LL120 RGB PWM fans deliver immediate cooling and additional lighting, with an included iCUE COMMANDER CORE XT for smart control. A wealth of flexible cooling options let you build your PC your way, including room to mount up to 10x 120mm fans or multiple 360mm radiators, and a motherboard tray with customizable side fan mounts. With room for five storage drives, a modern front I/O panel, and tool-free hinged tempered glass and steel side panels, the 5000T RGB combines bold styling with brilliant RGB lighting.” – Corsair
