Corsair iCUE NEXUS Companion Touch Screen Review

How Much Does it Cost?

The Corsair iCUE NEXUS Companion Touch Screen launches today with an MSRP of $99.99 Ex Tax in the US and £89.99 Inc TAX. That’s not cheap, and it’s a lot of money for something that most people really do not need. However, it’s a unique and premium interface, with loads of options. It’s not unlike the Elgato Streamdeck, but it’s certainly a more unique approach to it. I mean, it’s not like there’s a load of alternatives out there!

Overview

Corsair is leading the pack for innovation in the PC peripherals market, still. They’ve had flagship keyboards dominating the market for many years now. They’ve led the way with flagship RGB technology. They’ve given us some incredible studio peripherals through Elgato, and the list just keeps on growing. Now with the iCUE NEXUS, they’ve given us yet another flagship product that’s utterly unique.

iCUE

Corsair has a strong software suite already, and the iCUE software is easily one of the best software interfaces in the industry right now. From your Corsair fans colour modes to your Corsair mouse DPI settings, it’s all in a single piece of easy to use software. So, I’m very happy to see the NEXUS tap into everything that has to offer. If you pair up a Corsair mouse, you could adjust the mouse profile and DPI from the NEXUS. The more Corsair you have, the more NEXUS can do.

Performance

The overall build quality and design is really cool. It all just clips together and works quickly from taking it out of the box. I do think the backlight bleed could be improved, but it’s not uncommon on this type of small display and maybe we’ll see more improvements there in future models if this proves popular.

The touch screen is fantastic though, it responds well, the animations on the display are smooth. I never had any issues with the touch control really, so top marks there.

Should I Buy One?

I didn’t need one, I didn’t ask for one, but now that I’ve got one, I’m pretty darn happy with it. It’s just a cool thing to have, and while it does similar things to my Elgato StreamDeck, it does it differently too. It’s not cheap, but if you want a unique interface for your gaming, work, streaming and more, the NEXUS is certainly an interesting option.
