Corsair Introduces Dominator Platinum Special Edition Torque DDR4 Memory

World-leading hardware manufacturer Corsair is launching a new Dominator Platinum DDR4 kit called the Special Edition Torque. This kit sports the familiar Dominator Platinum design with a light-bar on top and with the new Special Edition brushed metal heatspreader. What’s different however, is that the Special Edition Torque series gives the light-bar a heat-treated look. Its fins and the Dominator logo are also colored in matching orange to complete the look.

Unlike the Corsair Vengeance RGB memory kit recently reviewed here at eTeknix which is capable of multiple colors, the Platinum Series Torque only has a white LED on top. The brushed metal heatspreader and the metal light-bar however, elevates its aesthetics beyond a fancy light show. Underneath, it is also built with a 10-layer PCB and comes with a 3200MHz XMP preset. Corsair claims that these Special Edition kits have been binned and tested for up to 3,600MHz on Intel 200-series and X99 platforms.

Special Edition Torque Color for Custom Builds

This unique Dominator Platinum kit has limited availability to maintain exclusivity. Like the previous Dominator Platinum special edition models, this exclusivity is emphasised through a laser-engraved number.

To commemorate the launch of this limited edition kit, Corsair has commissioned a custom hot-rod inspired build. This case mod is built by top US modder Lee Harrington of PCJunkieMods from a Corsair Bulldog SFF kit. Lee applied a flaming paint-job that matched the Torque memory module orange and made the Bulldog resemble the bonnet of a 60’s hotrod. This build also has pneumatic hood struts and working headlights.
