Corsair Invertor Call Mentions Early 2026 for PC GTA VI

Rockstar Games Developers Find GTA 6 Fan Theories Hilarious

We’re all still patiently (or impatiently) waiting on more news about Grand Theft Auto VI. We’ve had the trailer, and a few leaks here and there, but the real meat of the release date, the game itself and its platforms are still a bit murky. While many of the leaks can be taken with a fist full of salt, this recent one needs only a pinch. Corsair Gaming’s Ronald van Veen disclosed some interesting speculation/information in a recent company call with investors.

Corsair

The Corsair VP believes that Grand Theft Auto VI PC would be released just months after a console exclusive launch for both the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles. Given that Rockstar has a history of waiting what feels like an ice age for the PC release, this would certainly be positive news. It could certainly help that the hardware gap between consoles and PC is a lot narrower than it used to be in terms of hardware.

Investor Call

In the call, he added that “in terms of new games, I mean, there’s been a steady stream of games. What we really haven’t had for the last year or two is what we could call a ‘Fortnite moment’ or ‘PUBG moment.’ So, people are typically playing older games. And I think for our component business and for people looking at new cards, obviously, that tends to depend on new games that are super demanding that you need high-performance graphics in order to get 60 frames a second…If you actually look at the numbers across the last five years, peripheral sales are substantially up, like 50% or 60% up compared to pre-COVID. So, more people are gaming, but not all are gaming on new games. The activity around PC builds or gaming PC builds is roughly on par with pre-COVID now….GTA VI is probably the one everyone is talking about. And we’ll get a glimpse of that, I think, later in the year for console. My understanding now it’s going to come out in the fall for console, and then early 2026 for PC.”

Take Two

That’s certainly a welcome take, and while Rockstar plan to make a lot of money on this game, so do many other brands. Companies like Corsair can market peripherals, systems, and other products around the launch, perhaps even in partnership with the game. It’s going to shift serious volumes of console hardware, but also PC hardware too.

GTA VI PC

Given that Take-Two’s head of publishing claimed that PC can equate to 40% of overall sales, it’s money that’s sitting on the table, and I bet PC brings in big bucks for shark cards, or whatever GTA VI has as a digital currency too.

With more than a decade between releases, Rockstar and Take-Two must be hungry to recoupe on their massive development and investment costs. The game is rumoured to have cost around $2 billion, easily the most expensive game ever made. Will it make it back? I’m sure it will, but it needs to come out swinging with multi-platform and cross-play from day one in my opinion. Leaving PC behind would be a real loss to the gaming community.

So, anyone else hyped we may see GTA VI in early 2026 on PC?
