Overview
It’s hardly a surprise these days to find another new and impressive Corsair product. It seems they can do no wrong these last few years, and I honestly hope that trend continues both for their benefit, and for their fans/customers. The IRONCLAW is not the most feature-packed mouse they’ve ever made. Heck, it’s not even the best-looking mouse they make. For Corsair, it doesn’t have many RGB lights either. What they’ve made here is something solid, practical, and simply brilliant at the job it was meant for.
Build Quality
Everything about the IRONCLAW is just that bit bigger. Even its name is meant to be in all caps for crying out loud. It’s not like it’s cartoonishly big though, it’s not like it’s built for Harry Henderson. However, that small increase in size makes a big impact on the comfort and ergonomics for me personally. It feels robust, very durable, and they’ve used quality components throughout. It’s some wonder then that it’s only 104g total weight… Very impressive indeed.
Performance
The real star of this mouse isn’t the ergonomics, although they are the prominent feature of its design. The sensor is what really sets it apart from previous Corsair mice. It’s one of the best sensors I’ve ever tested, optical or otherwise. With 1 DPI adjustments up to a whopping 18000 DPI, you’ll have no issues with fast turning and tracking, even on high refresh rate/high-resolution displays. You can drop it down low for precision too, obviously. However, at any speed, it tracks with superb accuracy.
Should I Buy One?
It may be tuned for slightly larger hands, but don’t be put off by the size. It’s still going to be a comfortable palm-rest gaming mouse for pretty much anyone. The lightweight design, great build quality, great sensor, OMRON switches, and iCUE features are something pretty anyone can enjoy!
