Corsair Ironclaw Wireless Gaming Mouse Review

Performance

We already know this is a great looking gaming mouse. However, the aggressive looks certainly don’t compromise the fit and function of the Ironclaw. Everything feels well designed and placed, rather than just stuck on to look good. The ultra-hard-wearing side texture is comfortable on your fingertips. Furthermore, unlike some soft-rubber side panels, it won’t wear out before you’ve taken it out of the box.

The durable OMRON switches are quite clicky and tactile too. They give a confident amount of feedback while you’re using the mouse, which is great for precision. They’re rated for many millions of clicks, so it’s unlikely they’ll wear out before you ever choose to replace the mouse.

RGB and Indicators

The mouse does have plenty of RGB on offer. However, there are three indicator lights on the side also. These can be customised too, but they’re best suited to show which profile you have selected, or what your current DPI profile is. The Ironclaw features a DPI range of 100 to 18,000 DPI that you can change in 1 DPI increments. So, of course, having some visual indication on hand is pretty essential.

Millions of RGB colours, effects, fades, transitions, etc, are all on tap. There’s loads of built-in profiles too for the lazy. Furthermore, if you wanted to pair up your other Corsair iCue devices, such as fans, headsets, keyboards, you can sync all of the lighting between them. If you’re a fan of Corsair, it’s likely you’re already way ahead of us in that respect.

By far and away my favourite lights are at the front though. They look like the menacing headlights of a super car. In a dark room they look even better too.

Gaming

I’m not an Apex Legends… legend, but I like to think I’m getting better. Gaming with the Ironclaw in wireless mode certainly is impressive. Its sub 1ms response is easily on par with any wired solutions out there, and it feels tight, fast and responsive. It never let me down once, no lag, no delay, no loss in signal. To put it simple, it just works. Plus, if you feel the battery is getting low, or you just need the security of wired. Jam the USB cable into it and keep gaming. It’s really all about gaming how ever you want to with the Ironclaw.

With Bluetooth, I can take it to trade shows and use it with my laptop to work. In the office, I can leave it wired in for work charging up and use it as normal. Then on an evening I can go fully wireless, and play Apex legends without the weight of the cable ever slowing me down. The perfect mouse? It just might be!
