Final Thoughts

Price

The Corsair K68 RGB IP32 Gaming Keyboard is available now with an MSRP of £139.99. However, at the time of writing is was available for just £119.99.

Overview

Overall, I can’t pick any significant faults with the design or performance of this keyboard. If I could change one thing, it would be to make the spacebar a bit quieter. However, this is a minor issue that doesn’t spoil the overall package and is by no means a deal breaker. Of course, if you’re a big fan of Corsair keyboards already, you’ll be pretty familiar with the clanky spacebar.

Quality

The build quality and the overall design of the keyboard is faultless. Sure it looks like several other Corsair keyboards that came before it. However, there are little nips and tucks here and there, as well as a plethora of features, that help keep it at the forefront of what Corsair has the offer.

The design of the wrist rest could be improved, at least in regards to a more reliable mounting system. However, it’s a welcome addition to the overall set up. I suffer from hand pain quite regularly, and couldn’t use a keyboard without one, so I’m pleased to see one included.

Endless Customisation

The lighting effects and the macro engine offered on the K68 are ridiculous. Out of the box, they’re incredibly simple to use if you want them to be, yet endlessly complex should you need them to be. For pro gamers, enthusiasts, or RGB fanatics, having that kind of flexibility is always going to be welcome.

I know RGB lighting isn’t for everyone, but having more control over customisation is not really a bad thing, even if you don’t use all of the features available to you on the keyboard.

Worth Buying?

What I would never say this was the greatest keyboard in the world, as I think that’s quite a subjective things to say. It is, however, up there with the best of the best. Unsurprisingly, most of the Corsair keyboard range would be included in a list of the best of the best. It’s not particularly cheap, but with just about every feature you can think of for a keyboard to have, a stylish design, and a well-trusted brand name, I think it’s reasonably justifiable.

Pros

  • Stylish design
  • Powerful macro engine
  • Durable build quality
  • Class-leading RGB lighting
  • Dedicated multimedia controls
  • Flawless performance
  • Wrist rest included

Cons

  • Detachable wrist rest mounts could be improved

Neutral

  • Spacebar is a little “clanky” sounding
