Corsair K70 Core Mechanical Keyboard Review

When it comes to high-end gaming keyboards, it’s fair to say that Corsair has long been a market leader. They’ve had many award-winning keyboards that have stood the test of time, with their K-series keyboards being many of the most popular choices for the enthusiast gaming market. Admittedly, it’s been a while since I had a new one in the office to test myself, so I am really looking forward to seeing what their latest effort has to offer.

The Corsair K70 Core isn’t designed to be overly high-end, which is actually a relief with some of their flagships costing north of £200, something in the realm of your average consumer is a breath of fresh air. The Corsair K70 Core is still packing plenty of features though. It features Corsair Red Linear mechanical switches which come pre-lubricated, an aluminium top plate, two layers of sound-dampening foam, and more, so the build quality is certainly up to par for a quality keyboard. However, you get a programmable dial, media controls, full iCUE support for a plethora of key customisation and RGB options, a magnetic wrist rest, onboard memory, and more.

K70 Core Features

  • Premium Mechanical Keyboard Experience: Pre-lubricated CORSAIR Red linear mechanical switches deliver smooth, responsive keystrokes, enhanced by two layers of sound dampening for extremely satisfying gaming and typing.
  • Masterful Media Control: Control volume and more with a multi-function rotary dial and programmable media button, customizable with iCUE.
  • Robust Aluminum Top Plate: The durable aluminium top plate offers another layer of stability and style.
  • Sturdy Double-Shot Keycaps: Tough and resilient ABS double-shot keycaps won’t crack under pressure.
  • Store Your Settings Onboard: Save up to five profiles of your customized settings and RGB.
  • Customize Your Keyboard in iCUE: Take control with CORSAIR iCUE, unlocking vivid dynamic RGB lighting customization, key remaps, and media button programming.
  • Magnetic Detachable Soft-Touch Palm Rest*: A magnetic soft-touch palm rest conveniently adds a comfortable spot to rest your hands, with easy magnetic attachment.

So it's no wonder I write about tech and test the latest hardware while I enjoy my hobbies!
