Corsair K70 Pro Mini Wireless Keyboard Review

How Much Does it Cost?

Let’s beat around the bush a bit because it’s a lot. No, a bit more than that! Look, you’ve got a price in mind, and it’s likely close-ish to £100, and honestly, that’s what I would like to be true. However, it’s significantly more than that. It’s £169.99 Inc VAT. Yup, that’s a LOT of money, but let’s take a look at what you’re getting; the best components and keyboard hardware on the market today. It’s as simple as that, you want AXON processing, Slipstream and all that jazz, then dig deep into your vault Scrooge McDuck, because that’s what it’ll cost ya.

What About The Competition?

The competition is somewhat cheaper, but not by much. The Cooler Master CK721 is £129.95 and Corsair has them truly beaten in regards to features and latency. You could go for the Corsair K65, but while that’s £112, it’s not even close to the same level of features either. The only thing that comes close in terms of awesomeness and endless features is the ASUS RoG Falchion, but that’s 65% not 60% size, and it’s only £10 cheaper. The Mountain Everest 60 has basically the best typing experience I’ve ever had, and that’s available from £110, but more like £154 by the time you spec it up with the bits you want, and even then, it’s still not got the connectivity advantage of the K70 Pro Mini Wireless.

Ultimate 60% Keyboard?

So there we have it, the K70 Pro Mini Wireless has some extremely competitive rivals out there, but while it is more expensive than all of its rivals (admittedly, not by that much in some cases), it has the most features, with no expectation. It can do everything its rivals can do and then goes beyond that. The main selling points here are the mighty AXON processing, giving it a huge number of onboard profiles, ultra-low latency reporting, and extensive lighting customisation. Slipstream 2.4GHz wireless, Bluetooth, and USB Type-C give it a wealth of connectivity options, all offering the absolute best each technology has to offer, including 2000, 4000, and 8000 Hz polling rates, sub 1ms response times, and more.

Feature Overload

Corsair has crammed in so many shortcuts on this keyboard, that it ironically has more functions than many of their full-size keyboards. You can even move the damn mouse pointer and make left and right clicks with the keys, it’s utterly bonkers.

Should I Buy One?

Admittedly, this isn’t the keyboard for me, I need a full-size one, but if I did want a mini keyboard, it would be a tough choice for me to pick between this and the Mountain 60. Both are astonishing in their own respects. However, for the competitive gamers out there, the ultra-fast response speeds of the K70 Pro Mini Wireless are unrivalled. While the price is a bit serious, there’s no doubt that you’re getting everything you’re paying for.
