Corsair K70 RGB Pro Mechanical Keyboard Review

There are few products where I’m so confident about their quality before I even open the box. However, the Corsair K70 is one of those products, and I’m really looking forward to putting this one through its paces because I know it’s gonna be great! That being said, I’ll look quite the fool if it’s not. The K70 series has been the gold standard for mechanical gaming keyboards for many years now, and I know many of our readers will have owned or at least used one over the years. Of course, Corsair doesn’t just bring any old re-hash to market, and the new K70 RGB Pro is packing some impressive upgrades that will once again raise the quality for the K70 series.

You still get that classic K70 design, with just a few minor evolutions of the design that retain the aesthetic but make it look modern and fresh again. You get the same durable aluminium frame, it’s fully equipped with the latest Cherry MX mechanical switches, and of course, full per-key RGB lighting with iCUE customisation. However, there’s the new AXON technology and a dedicated tournament switch that help push things to the next level. That means an insanely fast 8000 Hz polling rate, 4000 Hz key scanning, and up to20 layer RGB lighting customisation in hardware mode, but unlimited in software mode. That’s certainly not everything that’s on offer, but you get the idea… it’s all the best of the best here.

The K70 RGB Pro is available with Cherry MX Speed RGB, MX Red RGB, MX Brown RGB, MX Blue RGB and MX Silent RGB. All versions are available with their PBT double-shot Pro keycaps or Polycarbonate Keycaps, and all now come with a standard bottom row layout to improve custom cap support.
