I think I’m in love, as Corsair has just shown off their K95 RGB Platinum gaming keyboard, and it’s stunning! It comes with an aircraft-grade anodized brushed aluminium chassis, with a dark polish to give it a titanium look that’s even better than the stock black aluminium, like we knew that was possible.
It comes with all the usual high-end thrills too. There’s 100% Cherry MX Speed RGB mechanical switches, with the lighting handed by the Corsair CUE software. For those who want to store a huge bank of lighting, macro and other performance features to the keyboard, you’ll find a whopping 8MB of on-board memory has you covered there too. For more complex commands, you’ll be able to use the 6 programmable G-keys, which are perfect for launchers and macros.
Finally, we’ve got a detachable soft-touch wrist rest with a reversible insert. One side is grippy, the other a lot smoother, giving you the choice to switch between them in seconds.
The good news? It’s available this month. The bad news? The gunmetal and black models are hitting the US, everywhere else is only getting the black one for now. No details on price yet either, but it’s a flagship keyboard, so expect the price to reflect this.
