Price
The Corsair K95 RGB Platinum is available for around £189.99 which is a real wallet buster, but you do get a hell of a lot in return for your investment. The build quality is phenomenal, there’s every feature you could ask for, and it’s easily one of the best-looking keyboards around too; you get what you pay for!
Overview
The K95 RGB Platinum from Corsair doesn’t really offer much in the way of innovation, although Corsair may disagree with that statement a little bit. What it does offer is everything Corsair has been doing for years now, it’s still a very familiar keyboard in terms of design and that’s great news for those who want to keep those gorgeous looks the K-series is known for. However, it literally has all of the features you would expect from a high-end Corsair keyboard, and every one of those features has been tweaked and improved to be the best they’ve ever been.
The MX Speed switches are still relatively new to the market and designed to give any competitive gamer that edge, without sacrificing the general feel and award-winning performance that made Cherry the name it is today. The addition of the colourful RGB lighting in each switch, as well as the powerful on-board lighting processor within the keyboard its self, means that lighting effects are as good as you can get, with smooth transitions, extensive customisation, and even synchronisation between the keyboard and other Corsair hardware for maximum effect.
Build quality is obviously high here, with thick braided cables, Cherry switches, an aluminium chassis design, etc. However, if there’s one thing I would improve here, it’s the plastic clip mounts for the keyboard. They’re easily broken if you mount/remove the keyboard in the wrong fashion, so they’re fine with care, but a few strong magnetic mounts would be far superior in my opinion.
Gamers will love this keyboard, no doubt about that, but it’s not just a gaming keyboard. Working in the office, browsing Facebook, whatever you’re doing, it’s enjoyable to use day-and-night. Of course, it’s just especially good for gaming, with gaming mode, anti-ghosting, rollover, MX Speed, a powerful macro engine, dedicated macro keys, additional custom gamer key caps, on-board memory to store all your settings, dedicated multimedia controls, and last but by no means least, a USB pass-through port to hook up your mouse or headset, could you really ask for much more? I didn’t think so!

- Gaming key caps included
- Dedicated macro keys
- RGB lighting strip at top and on Corsair logo

“The latest keyboard from Corsair doesn’t come cheap, but for the gamer who wants everything when it comes to features, as well as excellent build quality and class-leading performance, you’ll find the K95 RGB Platinum is worthy of your investment.”
