Corsair Launches New 2000D Mini-ITX Cases

Corsair has revealed its new 2000D Mini ITX case and right off the bat I’m annoyed that it has 2 USB 3.0 ports on the front when my larger 4000D only has one, I’m genuinely annoyed.

Corsair 2000D

Ignoring my complaint, the 2000D is a new Mini-ITX case in the D/X series of cases from Corsair and like the others in its family features both an RGB and non-RGB variant as well as white and black options. The case is ideal for high-performance compact PC builds and is still fully capable of fitting large components with up to a triple slot graphics card up to 365mm in length. The case features a volume of just 24.4 litres and has a footprint of 271mm x 200mm and features ventilation across all sides of the case.

Cooling Options

The 2000D series features removable Steel Mesh panels across all sides providing plenty of ventilation to the internals. The 2000D RGB Airflow comes pre-installed with three AF120 RGB SLIM fans in the front intake giving plenty of out-of-the-box airflow with vibrant customizable RGB lighting. These fans come in just 15mm deep ensuring that there is still plenty of room within the case for other hardware. The non-RGB variant does not come shipped with fans. If water cooling is your choice you are able to fit up to a 360mm AIO on the side and 240mm in the back depending on the GPU size.

Hardware Compatibility

Hardware compatibility is the first concern when using cases like this and users shouldn’t worry as there is plenty of room if you’re willing to cram it in. Users will be able to accommodate a triple slot GPU up to 365mm in length as well as up to 170mm in CPU cooler height. For power supplies you are restricted to 130mm SFX and SFX-L form factors which does restrict your wattage limits however there are a few high-wattage SFX units on the market including Corsair’s recently released SF1000L and SF850L. For storage needs, users are able to mount up to three 2.5″ SSDs internally providing plenty of storage for a gaming PC.

Front I/O

So this front I/O is plentiful and features a single USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port alongside Two USB 3.0 Type-A ports with a 3.5mm headphone jack. If they can give this case two USB Type-A ports then why not the 4000D?

Availability

The CORSAIR 2000D Series of cases are available now from the Corsair Webstore in the USA, To learn more visit corsair.com
